Newington is a vibrant community with many residents involved in a range of activities to benefit the suburb. The Newington Neighbourhood Association Incorporated (NNA) was formed by a group of local residents in 2006 as a steering committee to raise funds and assist community groups to coordinate  free events and activities during the year.

NNA also works with Auburn Council and various sponsors to fund equipment and facilities for the community and community groups.

NNA has also established its own core program of annual events including:

• Sizzling Santa - Christmas Event
• Newington Family Fun Day
• Clean Up Australia Day

It is impossible to stage these events without financial support from local businesses, Council and Newington residents.

Several precincts contribute funds to NNA through a nominal charge to their Community Association members. Money received from the Precincts is allocated solely towards funding of free activities open to all Newington residents.

Additional funding for events, the purchase of equipment and improvement of facilities comes from our valuable community sponsors.

NNA also operates and hosts this website to help the community stay informed and in touch and to help preserve the legacy of Newington.

We hope Newington will continue to grow as one of Sydney’s most community minded suburbs and that residents enjoy a variety of events and activities to further enhance the neighbourhood atmosphere of Newington.
