Road Works have started for Telstra 500 race track
The following notice was received from the Homebush Motor Racing Authority today. They apologise it wasn't sent to Newington residents prior to the work commencing.
The first stage of the construction of the Sydney Telstra 500 race track will commence on Monday 13 July 2009 at the intersection of Dawn Fraser Avenue and Olympic Boulevard.
The works were to raise the level of the road in a small localised area by up to 250mm to ensure a smooth even surface for the race track.
-
Between 13 July and 24 July, Olympic Boulevard will be closed at Grand Parade and Herb Elliot Avenue.
-
Between 18 July and 22 July, Dawn Fraser Avenue will be reduced to one lane in both directions with traffic controls in place at Olympic Boulevard.
-
The intersection of Olympic Boulevard and Dawn Fraser Avenue will be closed to vehicular traffic on 23 July and 24 July.
-
The detailed application for the works and associated traffic management plan is available for viewing at the reception in the SOPA offices.
A further update on the road closures will be provided should the above dates change.
